Eating away the cliffs at Happisburgh

This picture really sets the scene for the damage that is taking place along the coast line.

You can see broken sea defences.

You can see the cliffs eaten away on the left side of the picture.

You can see how some houses are just teetering on the cliff edge.

This is the soft, muddy cliff which is easily attacked by the sea.

Almost nothing left of these sea defences. The power of the sea is so strong most of it has been washed away.

This was once at the top of the cliff.

After the wooden defences have been destroyed they tried again with large rocks.

To the right of the picture you can see where the cliffs are being eaten away.

Trying to defend the cliffs with rocks.

Investigating Erosion

We made some islands and then investigated what happens when water dashes against them.

We began to see exactly the same things we see at the beach.

The sea breaks down the edge of the land.

A little bit of habitat maintenance

A very overgrown bit of Knapton needed our help.

Harvesting the garlic

Everyone thought the garlic had died because the stems had gone brown.  Now is the time to harvest. All the growing has been done and we should find a good sized bulb underneath. Lets take a look.
